We have just replaced a faulty hard drive. The drive array now must rebuild, which will result in slowness for users that have their mail on this drive array. So, if you see things a bit slow for the next few hours, please be patient – it will be resolved soon! It will take around 8 hours from the time on this post.
The drive had not failed – it had just reported a “Predicted Failure” which means it could fail in the next few weeks. We replaced it in order to ensure no problems occur. Even if a drive does fail, backups take over automatically with no impact on uptime or data integrity. We have spare drives on site at all times.
