FastMail.FM Status

We’ve just discovered that the problem below that affected signups for about 12 hours also affected some other areas of FastMail.

Certain files that were uploaded to file storage would have “disappeared” after some random interval. Fortunately these files are still in our file storage system, and we’re working on retrieving them and inserting them back into users files storage area. We’ll be emailing affected users.

Some updates on the personalities and signatures screens would have failed. Unfortunately these changes would not have been saved and cannot be recovered. Fortunately it should be reasonably easy for most users to re-apply these changes.

Again these problems have definitely been fixed and should not be occuring any more.

For about 12 hours yesterday we were having some payment and signup problems.

These problems might have resulted in accounts not completing their signup correctly, or double payments for some accounts.

We’re currently correcting all the signup problems and cancelling all double payments. Where we have a backup email address on file for the account, we will complete the signup of the account and notify the backup address. Where we don’t have a backup address, we’ll cancel the account and payment so people don’t find any unexpected charges on their credit card.

Signups and payments are now working correctly again for any new accounts.
